Consultation and
Assessment
Our first step is always consultation so we can find out what you want and need. We clear up expectations and find out why you want to use injectable dermal fillers. We then do an assessment of the areas that will be treated and map out a plan to get you the best results. It is very important to us that you, as the patient, feel comfortable and reassured before starting the treatment. A treatment plan is very important for successful results.

Cleansing
Before the injections can be administered, the injection areas are cleaned with antibacterial agents. This helps prevent infections and complications. During this step, mild anaesthetic or ice may be applied to the injection site to alleviate pain. However, the injections are not that painful and most people don’t need the anaesthetic. Most patients experience the needle pricks as mildly uncomfortable but not painful.

The Injection
The injections are administered to the planned sites. The injections take a few moments to administer, but the process also involves massaging the area for proper coverage and analysing the results. The doctor checks whether more filler is needed or not and takes action accordingly. The process can take anything from 15 to 60 minutes depending on the number of injection sites.

Aftercare
Once the doctor and the patient are happy with the results, the process is completed. The doctor will give you pointers and advice on what you can and cannot do for the next 24 hours. You will also be informed that this treatment lasts between 3 and 4 months and that you will need to make a follow-up appointment to keep the results effective. After a few filler treatments, you will likely need less filler with follow-up appointments.
